See who changed a deal in Zoho CRM

The Zoho CRM AI Assistant shows who changed a deal’s stage, amount, owner or closing date and when, from the record’s audit timeline, with the source of each change. It only reads; nothing in your CRM changes.

Zoho CRM AI Assistant is a Chrome extension that opens beside Zoho CRM. Tell it what you want to do in plain language, and it works with your CRM for you. Try Plus free for 14 days, then stay on Free forever.

the problem

The deal is not what you saw last week

Last week the deal was at proposal and closing this month. Today it is at negotiation, the amount is lower, the closing date has moved, and the owner is someone else. You want to know who did it, when, and whether a person, a workflow or an integration made the change.

the solution

Ask about the deal, read the changes in order

Name the deal and the fields you care about:

Who changed the stage, amount, owner or closing date on the Warehouse renewal deal, and when?

The assistant finds the deal and reads its audit timeline: the history Zoho CRM keeps of who changed which field, from what to what, and when. It keeps the fields you named and lists each change with the user and the source, such as a person in Zoho CRM, the API or a workflow rule.

It works the same on any record: a lead, contact, account, quote or a custom module. Ask “who changed the email on this contact?” with the record open and click “Use this page”.

  • Reads the record and its audit timeline, up to 200 entries per request.
  • Writes nothing.
  • When one action changed many fields at once, it shows the first ones and says how many more there were.

This is an example CRM.Connect your own Zoho.

How to do it by hand in Zoho CRM

You can do this in Zoho CRM yourself. Here are the steps.

  1. Open the deal in Deals.
  2. Open its Timeline and scroll through the entries.
  3. Note each change to Stage, Amount, Deal Owner and Closing Date, with who made it and when.

For one deal this is quick. It gets slow on a deal with a long history, where the four fields you care about are buried among every other edit.

questions

Frequently Asked Questions

No. It reads the deal and its history. If you want to put a value back, ask for it separately; it shows the change and writes only after you approve.
