Your Zoho CRM assistant, inside the AI you already use

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor to Zoho CRM with one URL. You choose which tools your AI may use, and every tool call is logged.

Included in Pro and the 14-day trialYou choose every toolRecord deletes restorable for 60 days

Connector URL

  1. Add the URL to your AI client

Paste it as a connector, or install our plugin in Claude Code or Codex.

  2. Sign in and connect Zoho

Your client opens our sign-in page. New here? Create an account and connect Zoho CRM in the same flow.

  3. Choose Allow

Your AI can now use the tools you leave on. Change them any time in your dashboard.

setup

Set up your AI client

Each client takes about two minutes.Add the connector, sign in when the client asks, and choose Allow. The steps below use your connector URL.

Claude Code

Claude Code in the terminal, IDE and desktop

Plugin or one command

Install the plugin

Recommended

Run these in Claude Code:

Claude Code
/plugin marketplace add zsetup/zoho-crm-ai-assistant-plugins
/plugin install zsetup-ai-assistant@zsetup
  1. Open /mcp, choose zsetup-ai-assistant and sign in.
  2. Your browser opens our sign-in page. Sign in, connect Zoho CRM if it is not connected yet, and choose Allow.
  3. Start a new session after installing or updating the plugin.

Or add the connector directly

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http zsetup-ai-assistant https://mcp.assistant.zsetup.com/mcp
  1. In Claude Code, open /mcp, choose zsetup-ai-assistant and sign in.
  2. Your browser opens our sign-in page. Sign in, connect Zoho CRM if it is not connected yet, and choose Allow.

Claude.ai / Desktop

Custom connector

Add a custom connector

  1. Open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector and paste this URL:
Connector URL
https://mcp.assistant.zsetup.com/mcp
  1. Choose Connect.
  2. Your browser opens our sign-in page. Sign in, connect Zoho CRM if it is not connected yet, and choose Allow.

Availability depends on your Claude plan and workspace policy.

Codex

Codex CLI, IDE extension and app

Plugin or one command

Install the plugin

Recommended
Terminal
codex plugin marketplace add zsetup/zoho-crm-ai-assistant-plugins
  1. In Codex, open /plugins, select Zoho CRM AI Assistant from zsetup, and install it.
  2. Sign in when Codex asks, then start a new session.

Plugin support can differ between the Codex CLI and the app. If yours has no plugins, use the direct setup below.

Or add the connector directly

Terminal
codex mcp add zsetup-ai-assistant --url https://mcp.assistant.zsetup.com/mcp
codex mcp login zsetup-ai-assistant

Codex stops waiting for a tool after 60 seconds by default, and a large batch can take longer. Give it more time in ~/.codex/config.toml:

~/.codex/config.toml
[mcp_servers.zsetup-ai-assistant]
url = "https://mcp.assistant.zsetup.com/mcp"
tool_timeout_sec = 120

ChatGPT

Developer mode

Add it in developer mode

  1. Turn on developer mode in ChatGPT’s settings, if your workspace allows it.
  2. Create a custom connector and paste this URL:
Connector URL
https://mcp.assistant.zsetup.com/mcp
  1. Save it and connect.
  2. Your browser opens our sign-in page. Sign in, connect Zoho CRM if it is not connected yet, and choose Allow.

Installing from the ChatGPT directory becomes possible once OpenAI has reviewed the listing. Plans and billing are managed on this website, never inside ChatGPT.

safety

What is and is not protected

On AI clients, the tools you enable are the boundary. Here is plainly what our server enforces, and what stays with you and your AI client.

What is protected

  • You choose the tools

Every capability starts on. Switch off what you don’t need — sending email, changing setup, deleting — or single tools. Our server lists and runs only what you leave on, and checks again before each call.

  • Record deletes go to Zoho’s recycle bin

The one tool that deletes records moves them to Zoho’s recycle bin, where they can be restored for 60 days. Nothing here can empty the bin.

  • Permanent setup deletes are separate

Deleting fields, rules, views or roles is permanent, so those tools sit in their own capability and can be switched off in one click. Each one checks identity and dependencies first, and refuses a delete whose knock-on effects it cannot verify.

  • Your AI client is the checkpoint

AI clients get no approval cards from us. Your AI client’s own permission settings decide when it asks before a tool call. Every tool tells the client whether it reads, writes or deletes, so “ask” modes can prompt on the right ones.

  • Every tool call is logged

Activity in your dashboard shows each call: when, which client, which tool and how it ended. Disconnect a client there and its access ends at once.

What is not

  • Instructions hidden in CRM data

An email, note or lead description can contain text written by someone else. If your client runs tools without asking (auto or bypass modes), that text could steer it into changes you didn’t ask for. Keep your client asking before writes and deletes, or switch off what you don’t need.

  • Your AI client’s mistakes

The model in your AI client can misread a request. We can’t see or control its reasoning, its settings, or what it does with CRM data it reads. Review what it proposes, especially changes to many records.

  • Anything Zoho cannot undo

Setup deletes have no verified restore, and Zoho clears its recycle bin after 60 days. After that, nothing can bring a record back.

CRM data your AI client reads is sent to that client and its provider, under their terms. See our Privacy Policy.

faq

Questions about AI clients

What is the MCP connector?
It is the same curated Zoho CRM toolset as our Chrome side panel, offered to AI clients over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Your AI client runs the model; our server runs the tools against your Zoho CRM. One account, one Zoho connection and one bill cover both.
Which AI clients work?
Claude Code, Claude.ai and Claude Desktop, Codex, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code have step-by-step setup above. Any other client that supports remote MCP connectors over streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in works too. Some clients only offer custom connectors on certain plans or when a workspace owner allows them.
What counts as a tool call?
One request from your AI client to run one tool, such as searching records or updating a deal. Listing the available tools and signing in never count. A plan that includes AI clients covers 10,000 tool calls a month, up to 120 a minute. Tool calls are counted apart from the side panel’s weekly limit, because your AI client, not us, runs the model.
Does this change how the side panel works?
No. The side panel keeps its own permission mode, approval cards and final confirmations. Tool selection applies only to AI clients.
I switched a tool on, but my client doesn’t see it.
Changes apply to the next tool call, but some clients only load the tool list when a chat starts. Start a new chat or session. In Codex, start a new session after any change.
My client limits how many tools it can load.
Windsurf, for example, allows 100 tools across all servers. Switch off capabilities or single tools you don’t need under Tool selection in your dashboard, and the list your client loads gets shorter.
Which Zoho CRM editions work?
Your Zoho CRM edition and profile must include API access. Some free-edition organizations do not, and an administrator may need to enable API access for your profile.
How do I disconnect an AI client?
Open AI clients in your dashboard and choose Disconnect next to the client. Its access ends immediately. You can also disconnect Zoho CRM itself, or delete your account, at any time.
