The Zoho CRM AI Assistant creates up to five custom fields at a time, each with the type you describe, and places them in a section of the layout. It shows every field and its place first, and creates them once you approve.
Zoho CRM AI Assistant is a Chrome extension that opens beside Zoho CRM. Tell it what you want to do in plain language, and it works with your CRM for you. Try Plus free for 14 days, then stay on Free forever.
the problem
Sales wants to record the competitor on each deal, the contract start date and the partner who brought it in. Each field needs a type, options, a place on the form, and a check that a field with that name does not already exist. It is easy work that keeps getting pushed to next week.
the solution
Name the module, the fields with their types, and where they should appear:
Add three fields to Deals: Competitor (picklist: Vendor A, Vendor B, Other), Contract Start (date) and Partner (lookup to Accounts). Put them in a new section called "Competition" on the standard layout.
It reads the module's fields and the layout, checks the names are free, and shows each field with its type and options and the section it goes into. When you approve, it creates the fields and reads them back, then places them on the layout. Creating fields and changing the layout are two separate changes in Zoho, and each is shown for approval.
Supported types include text, text area, email, phone, URL, number, decimal, currency, percent, checkbox, date, date and time, picklist, multi-select picklist, lookup, user lookup, file upload, auto-number and formula.

Every new account gets 14 days of Plus free — no card, nothing to claim — and then settles onto Free, which is permanent. In the side panel every plan has the same safety controls and supported actions, and they differ in how much you can ask for each week. The MCP connector is included in every paid plan (Plus, Pro and Max) and in the 14-day Plus trial, with the same 10,000 tool calls a month on each.

without the assistant
You can do this in Zoho CRM yourself. Here are the steps.
One field takes a minute. It gets slow with several fields across modules, picklist options to type in, and checks that no field with the same name exists already.
questions
No. A new field starts empty on every existing record. Nothing else on the module changes, and existing fields are not edited.
Yes, written in Zoho's own formula syntax, which it checks before showing the approval. A formula recalculates only when a record is saved, so existing records stay empty until each one is next edited. A formula cannot read a field on a related record.
Yes. Whether a field is required is set on the layout, and it can set that when it places the field. To make a field mandatory only at a certain stage, see Require a loss reason on lost deals.
It can choose a type you did not mean, such as a number where you wanted currency. The type cannot be changed afterwards, so a wrong one means creating the field again. Check every type and option on the approval.
The module's existing fields, so a new name does not clash with one already there, and the layout with its sections, so it can place the fields. It does not read or change records.
It needs a Zoho CRM edition and user profile with API access, and it can only do what your profile is allowed to do. The number of custom fields allowed depends on your edition. This use case has not been checked edition by edition yet, so write to us if you want to check yours first.
